I quilted it with wacky, wavy, organic lines in a light blue thread, and used my favorite blue and white print for the backing and binding. To make finishing it even faster, I machine stitched the binding both to the back and the front, and I like how it turned out!
I decided it would make a nice table topper for the outdoor door table on our deck, which is where we eat most of our meals throughout the summer.
It's always a good feeling to have a little finish to share - especially a WiP that was just a pile of blocks a few days ago!
Oh - and one more fun photo from my photographer husband - my little penguins!

Your pinquins and the mini are amazing. Thanks for sharing. I must try flying geese for the first time!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the only one who was math challenged in piecing quilts! Very cute table topper. Enjoy your time outside, summer goes too fast as fast as I'm concerned. Blessings, Gretchen
ReplyDeleteIf you hadn't confessed to faulty math, no one would ever know you hadn't designed the whole thing purposely. Very nifty finish!
ReplyDeleteAnother pretty little finish! It looks so cute with those flowers on your table. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteThis little topper makes me smile, and I like the way you've quilted it! You'll enjoy this - great finish!

ReplyDeleteThat looks terrific on your patio table! I plan to make a little tabletopper (shh don't tell) as one of my Lake fabric projects. And one project is going to have geese in it, duh, of course...might have to copy you?!
ReplyDeleteGreat geese! Clever design, and it looks great on the table!
ReplyDeleteThe perfect mat for your table. Love that snowflake fabric around those cute penguins.
