How about a Butterfly house? After last week's struggle to use the pretty butterfly print I found, it seemed like it might work for a house block. And it did!
The sky full of stars is dedicated to the Artemis II astronauts
who we have been fascinated with all week!
(Was anyone else glued to the livestream of their splashdown
and recovery yesterday about dinner time like we were?
Pretty exciting!)
There are five houses in the neighborhood now.
This is going to be a fun and colorful neighborhood!
And, in other pink sewing, I made some tiny pink four patches and added another block to the Gameboard collection. I decided that it needed some butterflies, too!

This is a fun neighborhood, Diann. What a cute house block and wonderful choice of fabrics. Oh yes, hubby and I watched the splash down. It was an exciting and proud moment. I bet it brought back many memories for your hubby too. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteOMG! We were glued to the tube too, watching the Artemis II splashdown. We were in a panic though bc our Spectrum had been out since around 2pm with the "promise" that it would be back by 7. Well, true to their word it blinked back on around 7, then skipped out for a few minutes, then back on. All in all, we enjoyed the splashdown and watching the helicopter pick-up, and then the wobbly walk off the helicopter. What a monumental moment! Great pink blocks, btw. Lol!
ReplyDeleteLove your pink house, Dian--we were also glued to the tv watching the re-entry of Artemis II yesterday. We even ate dinner in front of the tv--not usual for us...;))) What an amazing feat this has been--
ReplyDeletegives one hope for the future...
hugs for a great weekend Julierose
Love the butterfly house!!! That game block is adorable too! Sending hugs!
ReplyDeleteYour neighborhood is adorable and I love the pink butterfly house. Happy to see a safe landing for the crew.
ReplyDeleteWe were out last night during splashdown but saw the footage when we got home. They had quite the adventure! So glad everyone is back safe and sound. Your neighbourhood is growing. Nice pink blocks too. Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute house! The butterfly fabric well works for it. Yes we watched the splashdown last night until they were safely tucked away on the ship. It was exciting and fascinating! I thought about Mike every time they mentioned the men on the ship waiting to welcome them.
ReplyDeleteI like the hearts in the doorways of your little houses. I watched the splashdown, too.
ReplyDeleteYour little neighborhood is looking adorable. We watched the splashdown as well. Growing up in the Apollo era, it was sure fun to follow this new mission.
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly house is a perfect addition to your growing neighborhood. Happy stitching this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe neighborhood is looking fab! Love that dark sky for the butterfly house. After waiting months on hold at the library for the audio, I finished "How the Penguins Saved Veronica" this week & totally LOVED it! Thanks for the recommendation & I've already told some bookish friends to read it.
ReplyDeleteDiann, your design wall of houses is looking great! I havent started my pink house yet. I got myself into trouble by thinking I could commit to 6 quilts in 6 weeks challenge. Ha. I should just be committed. Hoping it will re-establish high productivity here.
ReplyDeleteso pretty in pink! :)
ReplyDeletea house and a heart - usually I have seen separate blocks a house, and a block with a heart - combined is more unusual
ReplyDeleteYou are creating such a nice neighbourhood, full of beautiful houses and tall shady trees.
ReplyDeleteLove your neighbourhood houses and trees. It's going to be a pretty and fun quilt. Pretty Gameboard blocks too.
