Just popping in with a quick post to share my next block for the Little House Sew-along, hosted by Melva at Melva Loves Scraps. This is the Shoofly block. I decided to make this one with the turquoise plaid fabric that Melva sent me as a prize for a previous block. I like how it turned out!
Next step was to add the surrounding log cabin strips - I'm getting more efficient with this now that I've sewn four of them!
And here are the four.
Thank you, Melva, for a fun sew-along!
Sharing at the block 4 link-up.
Nice blocks. How many blocks will you be making all together? Lovely colours! Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great block and to have used some of the prize fabric. . .super cool!
ReplyDeleteReally pretty block Diann...nice to use some of your prize fabric for these...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThose blocks are really pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are coordinating nicely. I've had to switch out a couple of strips that broke up the Log Cabin light/dark pattern... I'm learning as we go :-)
ReplyDeleteAnother pretty block. Love those fabrics and the blocks are looking good together.
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty block, I love the plaid! It does go quite nicely with your color scheme. I have to have the log cabin pattern right in front of my face every time I do it - lol!
ReplyDeleteI always like the shoo fly block and I like how you are using a pieced block as the center for the log cabins.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to use plaids, it works well in the shoo fly block. You've got a start on a beautiful quilt. The colors are such fun.
ReplyDeleteThis is coming together beautifully, Diann! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my, your Shoo Fly block is so cute, Diann. I love the blue plaid. Your blocks are so cheerful; they warm my heart. Hugs
