View out my back window on Wednesday morning -
Spring has sprung in my neck of the woods!
We estimate that it's at least three weeks earlier than normal for us.
This tree usually blooms about mid April.
I forgot to share this photo last week. Here's my mom on St. Patrick's Day. They had made these cute little wooden leprechauns with each resident's photo in theirs. When Mom saw hers she said, "That's me!" 💚
We went to see this movie on Friday - so good! At last a science fiction movie with an alien that isn't scary, lol! Now I want to read the book.
Which reminds me...
And LeeAnna's question of the week is about our favorite breakfast cereal as a kid. My parents bought Chex, and my favorite one was Wheat Chex. And guess what? I still eat a bowl every morning! They're whole grain and crunchy, and really good with any fruit added on top.
How about a Colorado peach?
Or when peaches aren't in season,
I use whatever berries are in the store.
Yum!
Hope you're having a great week!

What a beautiful tree! We are still hovering around freezing so no blooms here yet. Cheerios have always been my favourite cereal… The plain ones, not the flavoured ones. Now, I eat toast with peanut butter for breakfast. Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteThe crocuses are in bloom and the daffodils are bigger every day.
ReplyDeleteFor years I had cereal and Stevens had steel-cut oats. I had a box and a half of steel-cut left, so I cooked it up for myself and kept on with steel-cut. I hear him saying "I told you that it's good!" every morning.
Your mom's leprechaun is really cute. I've heard good things about Hail Mary, but I'll probably wait till it comes out on streaming services to watch it. I don't remember a favorite breakfast cereal as a kid. Being one of three, what we got was what ever my brother's (the youngest) favorite was at the time.
ReplyDeleteProject Hail Mary is a fabulous book! Listening on audible is also cool because you get to hear the music when the alien communicates. So is The Martian by the same author! We haven't seen the movie yet, but we will be going soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of tree is that, Diann? It looks similar to the Bradford Pear trees here in NC. Everyone complains about them. They are pretty but not native to the area and are quite invasive. Your mom is adorable. Love her little leprechaun. When is peach season in Colorado? We don't start getting peaches here until early June.
ReplyDeleteWhen I eat cereal, it’s Wheat Chex too. Wheaties come in a huge box. Wheat Chex is definitely more manageable. Love the photo of your mom and her little leprechaun. Thanks for the recommendation of Project Hail Mary.
