This week in slow stitching -
I have been so excited about finishing the Starburst quilt this week, and that included hand stitching the binding down as the last step. So I spent a couple evenings on that.
You can read my post about the quilt finish here.
There was time to sew the quilt-as-you-go hexies into a small tabletopper, too.
It fits perfectly on this little wicker side table that I think I've had since I was a teenager. It's where my husband sets his camera for quick pick-up in case he wants to take a photo!
The new project is some Christmas redwork embroidery designs that I found at PinkernPunkin. Melisa posted a whole parade of her cross-stitch and embroidery designs for the holiday season. Thank you, Melisa! Some redwork embroidery sounded like just the thing for this busy time of year.
And got a few stitches in it already this evening (Saturday)!

Good morning, Diann. You have had a super busy week. I am so glad you are able to enjoy your latest finishes. The little hexi quilt is the perfect size for the adorable wicker table. Aaw and it warms my heart you will be working on some of my redwork doodles. I hope you enjoy them. Have a lovely day of stitching and thank you. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteYour little hexie project fits in that wicker side table perfectly. You might need to make a Christmas themed one for the upcoming season! More cute embroideries from Melissa! Stitch on! Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteYou had a good week of finishing two projects and getting started on a new one. I saw Melisa's new Tree farm, I think I have to start that!
ReplyDeletewhat do you use to trace your patterns to the cloth. It's been awhile since I have done any stitching of that type
ReplyDeleteI do love redwork for Christmas! Lovely handwork projects.
ReplyDeleteYou always have a variety of things that you work on, but your starburst quilt is absolutely stunning.
ReplyDeleteThat little hexie quilt is darling! kudos to you for getting started on Melisa's cool Christmas designs.
ReplyDeleteOh you do tempt me with that red work idea!
ReplyDeleteI love redwork. Your little table topper is so pretty. Enjoy all of your stitching.
ReplyDeleteNice little hexie project! I love redwork and it is taking a lot of my will power to not join in! Oh but it is difficult LOL
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to slow stitch all week. I try to do that too. I’ll be working on punish to the finish line on two current projects. Melisa tempts me every week with her wonderful stitchery designs.
ReplyDeleteHey Diann, I just wanted to thank you for your October recommendation of the book Isola. I had it on hold from the library for a few weeks and finally got it on Friday night. I finished it Saturday night because I could hardly put it down. I loved the new-to-me locations and era. It was an exciting read from cover to cover!
ReplyDeleteHooray for the Starburst finish! Your needle doesn't stay idle for very long. I recognize the side table from college days--does that make it antique, or just vintage? LOL.
ReplyDeleteAwww...Your small table topper is such a cute, perhaps even sentimental finish? I hopped over to Melisa's and ended up staying a while downloading some precious patterns. I believe I have a plan....:) Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteI love that little table topper! That fabric is adorable! Your embroidery is going to be awesome! So cute!
ReplyDeleteThe hexie topper is so pretty, Diann. It fits perfectly on the wicker table. I am just getting caught up on blog reading and saw Melisa's Christmas embroideries. Oh how I would love to stitch them...need more time in the day!
ReplyDeleteI love your hexie project. I have never done one as a quilt as you go. It makes a cute table topper. I also really like your Starburst quilt.
