Slow Sunday Stitching

I finished up the Woven Wreaths quilting earlier this week, and zigzagged around the edges just to hold all the layers together.  I'm still debating how to completely finish this - I could add binding to it just as is, or I could make it into a pillow cover.

I stitched my initials and the year of the project - 2024 - into the bottom small square.

But before I do anything more with Woven Wreaths, I have some binding to stitch!

This will keep me busy for a day or two!

  1. I vote for a wall hanging…less wear and tear on your embroidery than a pillow. What quilt are you binding??? Is that your BOM from last year? Looks like you are all set for slow stitching today. Gail at the Cozy Quilter

  2. I'm loving the Woven Wreaths!. And I agree with Gail that a pillow cover might not wear well.

  4. A pillow would be lovely, on a bed or other spot where people don't usually sit wouldn't have anyone leaning on it so no wear to worry about.

  5. I would bind it and use it for a little wall hanging.

  6. a little pillow where it is not used much but for decoration would be pretty so nothing gets caught on the stitches

  7. Whatever you decide to do with your Woven Wreaths will be beautiful. It looks like it was a fun, year-long project. Have fun stitching down that binding. Almost finished with that project!

  10. I love the thought of your lovely Woven Wreaths as a wall quilt. Of course, if there's the perfect spot for a pillow then that sounds wonderful, too. Love that backing on the quilt your binding. It's just so pretty.

  13. Woven Wreath is wonderful! I’m anxious to get to the finishing stage of mine. Initials and dated are good in that lighter printed square. Me too! I’ve started in my biscornu. Not much progress to show.

  16. You finished Woven Wreaths! I look forward to seeing what you decide to do with it. A pillow would be nice, but so would a wall hanging. I'm glad I don't have to decide LOL.

  17. I didn't realize Woven Wreaths is pillow-sized! I had in mind that each motif was 6" or so.

  18. So happy for you to get your Kathy Schmitz panel hand quiltied. Your stitches look just amazing, too, Just do something that highlights all the beautiful stitches that you have done over the past year on it!
