It's December, and my creative brain is all over the place. The best way to deal with that is to just go with it! Fortunately, the sort-of-secret Christmas gift project is almost done. I just need to sew on the binding! Since this one has a deadline, I'm glad to get it finished.
Meanwhile, there are scraps to be played with! I cut these large triangles out of the red print and then decided not use them. Could I get a quarter star block out of each one? The answer was yes!
The white design on the red is doves in flight!
It worked out perfectly to make four of these.
So, how about four more made with the green and white floral from the project?
I started making these quarter star blocks last month with scraps that just happened to be left out on my cutting table from other projects, and I think I'll continue to do that through 2025 for a new Rainbow Scrap Challenge project!
Just a random arrangement!

Those are some adorable scrappy stars. Have you decided how many you are going to make yet? The doves look so pretty flying in a row on the binding. You are staying busy, busy, busy. Enjoy your weekend, Diann. Hugs
ReplyDeleteLove them! What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your secret stitch in full! Love your star blocks - isn't it fun to use those scraps? I am using scraps from a project to make something I saw on your blog. I have a post started. Will I actually post before Christmas? We shall see. ;)

ReplyDeletePoints for starting your 2025 RSC already! I know what I'm doing and have made sample a couple of sample blocks. And, now I'm cutting rectangles to make more -- eventually.
ReplyDeleteYou can always make lemon pie out of lemon peels!
ReplyDeleteI'm behind on reading blogs . I think that's really a clever use of those triangles! I must check my supply too. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great design for next year's RSC. I need to find one or two and hop on the RSC bandwagon. I think it would help reduce my scraps considerably.
ReplyDeleteYou found a fun block for next year's RSC.
