I Like Thursday #359

This is me this week!  I have been reading and reading.

Two really good books that even have an interesting common theme which I didn’t realize until I started reading the second book.  Do you know what synesthesia is?  I didn't until I started reading the first book and the main character has it.  Here is a definition from the Cleveland Clinic.

Synesthesia is when your brain routes sensory information through multiple unrelated senses, causing you to experience more than one sense simultaneously. Some examples include tasting words or linking colors to numbers and letters.

Yesterday I finished up the "Bless Our Home" 50th anniversary gift I've been working on for our friends.  I'm so happy to have this finished and will get it ready to send off soon.  I hope they like it!

For our last post before Halloween, LeeAnna is asking if we've ever had an encounter with a ghost or a family member after they passed.  I'm not much of a ghost person, and have never had a visit from a family member who has passed away, but it's not for lack of trying!  After my dad died pretty suddenly many years ago, I spent that night at my mom's house and slept on her couch.  I was so hoping to get a "visit" from my dad that night so I could say goodbye to him.  But no luck.

I still miss him!  In this photo, my dad was probably 56 years old,
and I'm now 13 years older than that.  That's a strange thought!

Have a great rest of the week!  We're expecting a change in the weather coming up on the weekend - with our first snow in the forecast.  ❄️❄️❄️

Joining in with LeeAnna and friends at Not Afraid of Color for I Like Thursday!

  1. I'm sure your friends will love the thoughtful anniversary gift. I know I'm not the usual but I would be happy to have snow in the forecast. It's so beautiful! I hope you have a great weekend.

  2. Recently my brothers and I realized we had all out-lived both of our parents. I've never had a "visit" but I do hear their voices in my head all the time!

  3. Adding those books to my list - I'm a big Marie Bostwick fan, and the other one sounds very interesting. Your 50th anniversary gift is so pretty, love the border you added. It makes that blue variegated thread just pop. My Dad died unexpectedly too, he was only 67. I've never been visited by him, but I did have a good dream about him long ago. I'd be so happy to have snow in our forecast!

  4. I'll have to add those books to my list! I haven't had any "ghost" experiences either. Your second blue piece finish is just as wonderful as the first!

  5. my father was 64 when he died - I'm 71 - one of my brothers had just turned 22 when he died in a car accident the week after his birthday - I dream of him often and sometimes the dreams seem quite real - I rarely dream of my father - I don't know why we do some more than others.

  7. No ghost stories in my family, but both My Guy and Grad Girl have versions of synesthesia. My Guy's has to do with color, Grad Girls is numbers. My Guy had no idea that not everyone "felt" colors like he did until Grad Girl learned about synesthesia in psychology when she was in high school.

  8. The night my Dad died my youngest had a dream that he was sitting next to her bed holding her daughter. We had planned to take Squish to visit him the next day. But he hasn't appeared to me. But a ghost visit, oh man I have one of those!!!
