This week I got started on House #1 for the Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL, hosted by Sandra at mmmquilts. The first house needed an Ohio Star made in purple so that was my first step. And perfect for April, too!
Pretty soon, I had the rest of the pieces and parts made, and laid them out to finish up the block.
I was working on this house on a snowy day earlier this week, so I used a sky fabric that had snowflakes!
It didn't take long to sew everything together, and, voila! House #1!
You'll notice this house doesn't have a front yard of green grass, either -
it was snowy that day!
These are big blocks - 16 inches square - nine of them will make a nice throw size quilt!

Along the way, I got started on my other purple blocks for April in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, too.
Eight little bowties,
some HSTs for the Split 9 Patch blocks,
and a start on a zipper block, too.
It was a good start to the month of April!

ReplyDeleteIt's an Easter house...and in the 'north' where we live, that can mean some April snow showers, right?! I love that you're telling a story with the blocks you make; I can certainly see the elementary/grade school teacher in you shine! So happy you're quilting along with us again; these use up scraps and it's fun to follow the RSC colour of the month!
