You can actually switch between all white lights and the colorful lights,
but I mostly stay on the colorful ones.
One of Mike's sisters sent us a special ornament to celebrate his family, so it is front and center!
I enjoyed this book this week. It's a sweet and quick read about an older woman and her granddaughter and a young cab driver who gets involved in their lives. A good Christmas read!
Thank you to Carole at From My Carolina Home
for the recommendation!
What's your favorite Christmas cookie or treat? I have to be honest and tell you that my absolute favorite is this... a cranberry bliss bar from Starbucks!
I treat myself to one (just one!) every season.
And usually share half with Mike, too.
I'm not much of a baker anymore, but it wouldn't be quite right not to at least bake a small batch of cut-out sugar cookies, so I know I will do that at some point. These are hard to resist!
The little Christmas penguin cross-stitch design has turned a corner this week, and I've made good progress on the sky/background. I think he'll be done before too much longer. But then how to finish him up? In a frame, a hoop, make a tiny pillow? Not sure what the best way to do that will be. But he's looking pretty cute at this point!
Hope you having a great week!

OWO you have a beautiful shiny Christmas tree.
ReplyDeleteYour little pinguin is comming along beautifully, it is sooo cute!
You can make a tiny round ornament for your Christmas tree, just an idea.
We have our tree up too, and I agree, multi-color lights are the best! I'll have two more books for the holiday season on Sunday for you. It is party week here, and I'm having so much fun this week!
ReplyDeleteI always bake too much at Christmas - there are so many favorites and even if you try to back half the batch there are 5-6 favorites to make so you still end up with too many cookies! Lovely tree
ReplyDeleteThe Starbucks treat looks amazing! Good self- control! Only one! You tree is gorgeous. I saw those ornaments last year and wish now in had ordered them. I should do it early in 2023 for next Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI like Ivani’s suggestion of an ornament from you penguin stitch! I downloaded the chart, and I want to do that!
While I'm not a Starbucks coffee fan like my sister, I will totally admit that they have some of the best sweet treats! Cranberry Bliss sounds amazing. Your penguin is looking so sweet! Have a good Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI love the lighted Christmas tree. What a great little ornament, too. wow, that cranberry bliss bar looks yummy! Lots of good stuff this week.
ReplyDeleteHi Diann! Your cookies look delicious, and cranberry bliss sounds like a wonderful name for the Starbuck's version. That reminds me that I made some cranberry bars last year. I need to find that recipe and make them again. Your little skating penguin looks so sweet. Happy Thursday to you! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteI like your tree. It is a nice size. I don't put up a big tree any more, but I have several table top trees. And I don't bake cookies any more because there's nobody here to eat them. I should probably download a Christmas book. I didn't think of that yesterday when I needed a new audio to listen to.

Love your colorful tree!!! I read that book, too, and gave it 4 stars--a quick, fun read!
ReplyDeleteDiann your tree is so beautiful.Don't you love the warm glow of the lights come evening time? The ornament that your dear SIL sent is so precious and a treasure. I am sure it brought some tears as well. Your little penguin is looking amazing. I can not wait to see how you finish him. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour penguin is a sweetie with that cute hat! Cheer to you!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is the perfect size and looks beautiful! Love that family ornament, and maybe your little penguin should join the tree? Mom and I shared a Starbucks cranberry bliss many years ago, and I've never forgotten it - it was so very good. I will probably bake Granny's recipe sugar cookies at some point, it's a Christmas tradition.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't resist the starbucks or your homemade iced sugar cookies

What a pretty tree, and fun that you can switch between white and colored lights. I haven't read that book, and had forgotten about Terri Blackstock. Will have to look that one up. I don't bake cookies as much any more either, because with just the two of us, we don't need all of them. This year I'll probably just make the PB Temptations for hubs, and maybe something else for me.
