We woke up to this view out the front window Friday morning - snow overnight and very cold temperatures.
It put me in the mood for some wintry stitching, so I've been working on the little Christmas Penguin that I started earlier in the week. On Tuesday, he looked like this:
You can see the full design above - it comes from this site:
Durene Jones Cross-stitch on Facebook.
And now he looks like this:
He's going to be a cute little guy!
I also traced this design from All People Quilt, and got started on a little bit of it. We're going on a road trip for Thanksgiving later in the week, and I thought this would be a good take along project.
The two designs say "Welcome" and "Winter" and
are meant to make two pincushions or bowl fillers.
Find the pattern and design here at All People Quilt.
Thanks, Vicki, for the inspiration and pattern link!
For today's Slow Sunday Stitching with Kathy's Quilts, I'll see if I can get a little farther on the little penguin!
It seems so early in the year to have snow, but it is late November. Your penguin is really cute. Enjoy your slow stitching this week and the time with your family.
ReplyDeleteThat snow makes such pretty scenes on your street. Love that little winter stitchery. You are such an enabler. ;) I got some variegated blue floss last week, and I have a Kathy Schmitz pattern in my Etsy cart since she has 20% off this week!
ReplyDeleteWe have had a bit of snow here too. Very cold this weekend with blustery winds. Time for hot chocolate and winter stitching! I like to take a project with me when I travel too. Such pretty bowl fillers you are making! The penguin looks like he is dancing!
ReplyDeleteCute little penguin!
ReplyDeletelooks like perfect weather to curl up and do some stitching. The snow is pretty but looks cold doesn't it.
ReplyDeleteThe little penguin is adorable! Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteYour penguin is coming out so darling! I also like the pincushions/bowl fillers. What a nice way to add an extra special touch to them!
ReplyDeleteOh the little penguin is certainly coming to life!
ReplyDeleteI saved that penguin chart for future use. You've made good progress on it. I like the embroidery you are planning also. Have a safe Thanksgiving trip.
ReplyDeletePretty embroideries!
ReplyDeletePretty snow and love the penguin. Safe travels and enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty stitching projects! It is very important to have a good take along project when travelling!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Winter is adorable. Thanks for the link. I'm just now finishing a Hello Autumn stitchery kit. I'm always trying to catch up. Maybe I can start the bowl fillers in time for winter! Have a safe Thanksgiving trip!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little penguin! Your travel projects will be fun to stitch up, too!
