Pulling out the light greens...

Starting the week, I had two more Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects that needed light green blocks so they could be finished up for the year.  I started with the hand-pieced plus blocks - I had made three of them in our previous green month, so three more were all I needed.

I decided that 49 blocks would make a good layout because these blocks are rectangular, and here they are all together on the design wall.

Next step is to sew these into groups of twos and fours,
so they'll go into a project box for my evening hand stitching time.

The other blocks I worked on were for Masala Box.  Just two light green blocks needed to get to 20 total.

I put these blocks up on the design wall next, just putting color groups together.  I'm not sure what kind of layout I want for them, but definitely need to spread out the greens and blues a bit!

These should sew up into a top pretty quickly!

  1. Two wonderful scrap projects closer to the finished top stage! I have to finish my light green blocks for my two projects and then see what I need to do to finish them up. I love seeing everyone’s scraps…sometimes gives me scrap envy!

  8. Deciding how to layout the blocks is always a puzzle. For me at least! I am still loving the plus blocks and Marsala is going to be so cute! This time of year I always think about the next year ahead. I’m feeling overwhelmed by the projects started but not complete. I may have an idea how to remedy that. Still in the thinking stage!

    Have a good weekend!

  10. The Plus blocks are beautiful, wow for making them all by hand, including assembly! I love how the sashing makes them look random in the layout.
The green Masala Box blocks are pretty too, it's going to be a bright quilt. It's fun how they don't look like squares ;)
Thank you for sharing these inspirational blocks, and linking up!

  12. Your Masala Box blocks are amazing, and are going to make a stunning quilt. I just pulled out the brown and bright one I made last year for myself, and it’s on my lap as I write this (being held in place by Darla). Your plus-sign blocks are delightful, too. You have so many great finishes coming up!!
