Back in February, Jenny of Elefantz shared this sweet design for an embroidery that I decided to save until I had time to trace it out and stitch it up. I finally got to it this week, and by Friday evening it was almost finished.
Her design showed a bit of fabric appliqued in place for the pot that the plant is growing out of, so I did that, too, and yesterday stitched it down with a blanket stitch using my favorite variegated blue floss.
There's lots of that marbly blue left, so I think I'll use it to frame the embroidery and finish this off into a little mini wall-hanging for a friend for her birthday in May.
I've also been hand-piecing plus blocks in yellow for one of my Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects this week, and have finished three of them so far. #4 is prepped for today's slow stitching.
We've gone from Spring-like weather back to winter and snow this weekend,
so I think this will be the only sun I see today!

What a pretty little piece. You are really fast on your embroidery! I think the marbly blue will make the perfect frame. We've been having fake spring with high 70s and are due a cold front tonight. Have fun stitching today!
ReplyDeleteI like the fabric stitched down on the embroidery piece a very nice touch!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet design! Contentment and gratitude really do go together.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I was amazed how the look changed once you added the blue vase... great idea to use the blanket stitch on the edge! Jenny is a wonderful designer!
ReplyDeleteI’m tickled to see that we both are working on a Jenny design! How fun is that! Yours turned out really cute! I’ve done several of her design. They are favorites. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteCute hand embroidery project. I finished another snowman Friday night. So I need to get another ready. We got back into another windy stretch, but still fairly warm.
ReplyDeleteWe've been stuck in cold, gloomy weather for several days. Today it is raining. A perfect day to stay inside and stitch. Your blocks are very pretty and I love your embroidery.
ReplyDeleteI also saved this beautiful pattern for future embroidery. Yours looks really beautiful. Here we are finally having the tenth day of summer.
ReplyDeleteThe hand pieced plus blocks are awesome. Happy stitching.
I really, really like that embroidery.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty piece you are working on! Love the saying.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful embroidery work. I'm sure your friend
will love it. Your plus signs are cute. I like
the yellow mixed with the black and white novelty
squares colors...shows it
off really good. Have a great day!
Beautiful stitching. I don't remember if I saved that one or not. Will have to go back and look. Happy stitching!

ReplyDeleteThat lovely little stitchery will make a delightful gift for your friend. We got up to 72 degrees today, but the wind was really ripping. I did get out for a nice long walk.
