Sunday Slow Stitching

It's only a week past the holiday, but I finished stitching "Ewe Have My Heart" on Friday and fully finished it for a little display yesterday.  I found this wooden tray at the local Dollar Tree (which is now $1.25 Tree!), and Mike painted it for me last weekend.

I wrapped the cross-stitch design around a piece of batting layered on cardboard, and then mounted the whole thing on the tray.  For my first time finishing something like this, it's not too bad!

And here's my Valentine display - all ready for next year!

For today's slow stitching, I'm back to the Frosties.  This is block 10, "The March." Thanks, again, to Melisa for sharing her sweet designs!

I suppose Frosty is still appropriate for stitching right now, even though I am craving signs of Spring, because it is definitely still winter in Colorado!  Here's the coming week's forecast...

Stay warm, everyone!  Sharing at Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.

  2. I thought I was the only one who had noticed the price increase at Dollar Tree! They've taken the $ off their signs. Love your little ewe piece and your treatment is inspired.

  19. LOL on the $1.25 Tree!!! In our neighborhood it's the "Doll Tree", at least when the neon lights are on!!! But the real star is that cute tray--so cute with the table runner, too! And that's a real bargain--frame for only $1.25!

  21. That's a nice little vignette for Valentine's Day. Your cross-stitch looks so nice mounted in that little tray! We are stormy in MN today once again. Most of the snow today is north of us, but the wind is howling pretty good. Our snow will arrive tomorrow. I am ready for Spring, too!

  22. We had sunshine and temps in the low 50's today, so I went out for a good walk. Cold and snow to return by Friday. My husband had some of those little wooden trays (he used for postage stamp sorting). I should repurpose one or two of them, I guess.

  23. Your slow stitching is lovely. Between you and Wendy, you might get me back to cross stitching, and it’s been about 30 years since I last completed a cross stitch project!
