Mondays are an exciting day if, like me, you're participating in the Stay at Home Round Robin QAL. That's the day the guest hosts share the next border idea that we'll be working on for the week. You can see the latest round robin designs that participants have been working on over at The Darling Dogwood.
So this week's border idea prompt was Plus Sign blocks. I started with four 3 inch finished blocks.
Then, what next? More plus signs? Strips to connect them?
I had to go look through the bloggers who had linked up already and see what they had done.
You know how that goes - each one I looked at was my favorite! So I would go look at my block and fabric and do some figuring and try to work out how I might do "this one" or "that one." Then I saw what Pat at Life in the Scrapatch had done for her plus sign border, and knew that was THE one!
I made two strip pieces and laid them up on the design wall - yes, I think this will work!
And here's how my round robin project looks now! It is 18.5 inches square.
I like the way this round frames the center and
blends with the busier piano key border.
Now I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next!
Linking up with The Darling Dogwood.
This looks great!

ReplyDeleteYES! It's perfect!!! I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so great! I love the colors in your quilt :)
ReplyDeleteDiann, I am so glad you posted this! I was hesitant to put the crosses on my border because I think it is too busy. This looks like an arts and crafts style frame. Do you mind if I imitate you? I'll be sure to give you the credit! Take care and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely liking your border addition, it sets off the previous work nicely.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how different folks can use the same instructions and yet come up with so much different magic! Love what y'all are doing.
ReplyDeleteTricky, tricky, Diann!!
ReplyDeleteYes that does work! Very smart idea Diann, it's really looking good.
ReplyDeleteYour round 3 worked out well. It's been fun to see how everyone interprets the each round. I really do like the colors in your SAHRR.
