To-Do Tuesday #69

Happy Christmas week!  I'm checking in today with my weekly to-do list and linking up with Roseanne and friends for the To-Do Tuesday linky party at Home Sewn By Us

On my list from last week:

1.  Finish the December Color Challenge block.  Done!

2.  Finish the Christmas squirrel project.  Done!  I made us a couple of scrappy placemats, and they've  been getting lots of use.

3.  Choose another WiP off the list to make some progress on.  That turned out to be sewing the borders on the Rainbow Jungle project which is 3/4 done.  It won't take long to finish up.

So, what's going on this week?  I'm not putting any "have to's" on the list - this is a week for the "want to's!"  What do I want to do?

  • Bake some cookies!
  • Read a Christmas-y book!  That won't be a problem.

  • Watch a Christmas movie (or two?!)  I'm not one to watch the Hallmark Christmas movies for months and months, but this week it seems appropriate!

Any recommendations?

Earlier this year I made the mini on the left - it's 6 inches.
This time I made the 4 inch size.

But wait, there's another one!

Stay tuned!

I have an idea for these tiny house blocks - let's see if I can make it work.  Have a wonderful holiday week, everyone!

  1. Great projects and I love your houses! I also am intrigued with your first block because I don't know that I have seen it before. What is a squirrel project? I love your placemats! Have a safe and happy holiday! Sends yummy to bake and read and watch tv---it's such a good suggestion, I might do some of that too! Hugs and Merry Christmas!

  2. I read that book too. Yes, Christmas movies this week, my favorites on DVD. I baked pumpkin bread for our neighborhood as everyone seems to be dropping off goodies to eat this year.

  3. I love seeing your projects and especially those tiny houses. Seeing that 6-inch one with the penguins peeking out reminded me of the blow-up penguin in someone's yard on our block. It is part of their Christmas decorations, and I think of you every time I see it! I like your idea of what do I want to do instead of have to do. Enjoy your week!

  5. Love your placemats, and your color block is sweet, as are your houses. I need to make some cookies today, and bread. I may actually sew a wee bit too.

  6. I love the placemats and especially the runner! Fun fabrics! I don't get into the Hallmark movies so I have no recommendations--we just watch our same Christmas movies every year (Elf, Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, White Christmas etc etc). I am always up for a Christmas book tho. How is it? Merry Christmas!

  8. I'm liking all your projects, and those little houses make me want to stop everything and make some more. However, I need to get this one last Christmas gift done (that I just decided to do, today). Maybe the little houses will be fun Christmas sewing - hmm. I'm not much of a Hallmark Christmas movie type, but I do watch several other Christmas movies. We haven't watched any this year, yet. No one seems in the mood. Maybe that will change later this week.

  10. Those little houses are really cute. I may have to look into them. I confess that I have never watched a Hallmark movie. I'm not much of a movie person and watch very little TV at all these days. I hope you and Mike have a Merry Christmas even though you can't have your Mom or sons visit.

  15. Hi Diann! I love the fabrics you chose for the December color challenge block. How fun your scrappy placemats are - they really brighten up your table, don't they?! I love that your list for this week is comprised of "want to" projects. Dominic would say, wanna . . . bake some cookies is on my list, too. We are watching Olaf's Christmas special on Christmas Day evening with our two (maybe three) littles. {{Hugs}} I wish you and your family a very Happy Holidays. Thank you for linking up this week. ~smile~ Roseanne
