Hard to believe it's October 1st, isn't it? This year just keeps marching on. Thanks for visiting for "I Like Thursday," hosted by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color! Check her link for all kinds of fun and positive posts.
I decided to borrow Judy's idea, from Busy Hands Are Happy Hands, and show you what's next to my chair!
This week's read, by Mary Kay Andrews - an entertaining "beach read!"
My pincushion and zipper pouch for hand-stitching supplies.
And this little Pixie Pouch, which is perfect for holding
my parts for the Humble Quilts QAL.
I'm enjoying these bright and happy flowers that a friend gave me on the little chest by the front door.
Earlier this week, we went up to Rocky Mountain National Park to get in some hiking and have a picnic, and also hoped to see some fall color. It was a beautiful day up there and Mike got some good pictures, I think!
I like a small piece of birthday cake, too! Yum!
And, finally, I saw this meme this week, and thought it was perfect to share here.
Hope you're having a good week!
I'm glad you were able to enjoy the mountains - seeing them in the fall is a favorite thing of mine to do I love seeing the fall colors with the aspen trees.
ReplyDeleteSo much fun to see what is next to your chair! Love the little pixie pouch! Cute owls! Mike did get some good pictures of the colors in the high country. I forgot to share mine. Next week! I hope I can borrow your meme! I think I have a few people in my life who could use the reminder that there is always something good, if you look for it!
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend. Our weather is changing and we have some, “get ready for winter chores” to finish. And our afternoon walks are now requiring a jacket! I’m not looking forward to winter, but I need to look for the small things. 🙃
The beautiful flowers and the pumpkin look great sitting there on that quilt/mat; very fall-like. I DID borrow your meme... knew that some friends/family (and myself) could gain something from reading it (and taking it to heart).
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a comfy & enjoyable chair to spend some time in. Of course, I wouldn't get busy in it until I'd finished that cake! Hahaha! I'm a sucker for dessert! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteall of these are so good... especially the last quote. Thanks for that. There have been many days of despair lately... and you had a clear day? Lucky you to see the sky again. Your flowers are so pretty, the book looks fun, I'm putting it on my list.
ReplyDeleteI like your list of likes and please pass the cake!!
ReplyDeleteGood stuff - although you had me at birthday cake! lol I love your flowers.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty bouquet. Love the mountains and the trees changing. A couple of years ago I was driving back to Michigan....I had wanted to start back a lot earlier than the first part of October, but seeing the leaves change was fabulous. Especially if you were down in a valley and seeing how the further up the mountain you went the golder the leaves became. It was ombre'! Love the last quote
ReplyDeleteGreat meme. Much needed as each week seems to get worse than the one before. Belated Happy Birthday.

Hi Diann! Oh, I love that meme. Start small - it's all uphill from there with good things. We can all attest to that each week. The birthday cake looks yummy - HB!! Wow, those pretty, bright flowers near your front door would make me smile each time I passed them, too. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeletegreat pictures of Rocky Mountain Park, for sure you had great time outside.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers and the piece of cake makes my mouth water, is it carrot cake with chocolate ?
Well Diann, it sounds like you had great momments this week!
I love what you have so close to you near your chair. Your flowers and pumpkin look great on your table topper. What great pictures of the Rocky Mountains! I wish I could have some cake with you! Great likes!!
ReplyDeleteLove the meme! Very appropriate for the current way things are going. Love the fall mountain photos. There's a hint of color in our trees, it will be another couple of weeks before we get really nice fall color.
ReplyDeleteMike's photos are always great to see. I love those mountains! None around here...our area is pretty rural so that means a bit flat. I could not show you around my chair without a tidy up first! Things seem to grow around me for some reason. Just read your scrappy yellow block with Cynthia's design post..love it! You have a lot of nice blocks on the go.
ReplyDeleteThe golden aspens are so pretty in the sunshine. We enjoyed seeing them on our trip. So many good likes! I love those pixie baskets, and they are so easy to make!
