We must have had a chickadee nest somewhere in our yard, because there have been a bunch of little ones visiting our feeders this week. We sure enjoy watching them!
In the garden, my green beans are growing! I haven't planted these for years, and I had forgotten that they have pretty purple blossoms, too. Can't wait to eat some!
You might be surprised to learn that I like this place.
They are taking good care of Mike through his cancer treatment,
and I am so thankful for that.
I can't go inside with him for his appointments, so sometimes I just stay out in the parking lot if it's a short one. Last week, I brought along my embroidery to work on. I thought this would be good to stitch on while waiting.
I was happy to find out that our library had opened for curbside pickup recently, and I had a book to pick up. Here's how they handed it to me!
Inside the bag was this book, which I've been enjoying, after finishing my previous book that was kind of heavy duty. This one's a political thriller with the whole world in jeopardy - definitely a page turner - and I know the good guys are going to win!
And how about a little treat? We've discovered a small, locally owned donut shop near us, and it tempted me the other day!
Mmmm!

Great picks of the chickadees. I had to cancel my dental appointment and the 1st available isn't until the end of September. Oh My! Your beans are looking awesome. I bet it is hard waiting in the parking lot, even with books, and hand work. Yay for curbside pick up.
ReplyDeleteThe baby birdies are fun to watch. We've got a family of Barn Swallows living in our backyard. They little ones fledged last weekend. I've seen that Bill Clinton had authored a thriller and was wondering if it was any good or not. I'm not a James Patterson fan, so I haven't looked into it any further. Hope you have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Mike is doing OK. We have titmice that live in our eaves. They pick all the insects off our door screens. I want to put a feeder on our deck to attract more birds. We have a lot of flycatchers this year that appear to be keeping the mayfly population under control. Miss Miller supplies the donuts in this community but the lines are so long at her trailer that I have yet to try one!
ReplyDeleteWe do love our birds don't you. The other day I saw some robins getting their flying lessons. I sure hope all is going good for Mike, taking your embroidery to work on is perfect. Stop tempting me with that donut!
ReplyDeletemy dentist appointment was cancelled and they told me I can't go until we are in phase three because of medical reasons heaven knows when that will be. I have more birds than normal at this time of year I noticed.
ReplyDeletelove green beans I usually have luck with those but need to cover them with chicken wire or the critters get them.
glad you liked the book - I need to look for another audio book I finished the last of that I had yesterday
there's that indomitable spirit! Liking the cancer treatment center because they are helping your husband...love to you both... the embroidery is really pretty is that back stitch? I used to make a mess of lines because I thought I had to outline and it always tilts wrong, but now discovered the value of backstitch. yum to that fat donut! I want one too! The book sounds too real...
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteGreat post...We planted a few green beans too...
My library is doing curbside service too, have called to get a book yet. But I have a list made up. I've been wanting to read The President is Missing...James Patterson is one of my favorite authors..have a great day!
Our library reopens on Monday for curbside pickup and I can't wait. As a faithful library user, I don't buy many books that aren't quilt related, so I've had a tough time finding things to read. The library closed before we got home from FL, so I wasn't able to stock up.
ReplyDeleteGlad to here Mike's treatments are going as well as can be expected.

So many good likes -- especially that donut!
ReplyDeleteI love your Thursday posts, so positive & uplifting. Glad to hear Mike is faring well and you have some beautiful embroidery to work on.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually a little jealous you got to the dentist. lol. I have no idea when I'll get my next cleaning. Snap peas have pretty blossoms, too. So unexpected with veggies. Baby chickadees! how cute. Love your embroidery - hope that Mike continues to do well. Huzzah for library books!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that they are taking good care of Mike, Diann! Stitching while you wait for him to get his treatments is a great use of that time.
ReplyDeleteYou had me at chocolate donut. Now to back up. That bird is such a vibrant blue-just beautiful. I hope hubby is improving every day. I would grow green beans just for the plant-how pretty.
ReplyDeleteWonderful likes! I miss doughnuts and haven't had one since the pandemic! Our libraries are opening up today! I love your photo of the bird and your beans! We are keeping Mike in our prayers!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's an excellent way to look at the cancer center! Best wishes for his speedy recovery. And so nice to relish the little things in life, like library books and donuts. Which reminds me, I haven't had a donut since . . . forever! Now I want one.
