The only picture I can find of this little embroidery design is from back in April when I had just started it.
It's a free Gail Pan design called "Bee Brave" that someone pointed me to back then,
and I sure enjoyed stitching it!
Fast forward to today, and I've finished up the embroidery and added some yellow borders, layered with batting and backing, and some simple quilting.
Here's the backing:
Today's slow stitching job is to finish up the binding and get this ready to send off to a special someone!
Meanwhile, my simple hand quilting is progressing on the Book Club quilt, too!
Linking up today with Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.
Gail Pan's designs are always so cute and simple looking aren't they but I think some are probably more work than they look.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet little wall hanging. You chose just the right fabric to finish this little one.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow fabric for both the border and backing is perfect for your beautiful little embroidery. 'Tis always a pleasure to see your red and white Book Club quilt. I am loving the simple hand quilting your have decided upon.
ReplyDeleteLovely piece and lovely sentiment! Perfect border! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little quilt with the embroidery! Book club is looking great.
ReplyDeleteJust a lovely embroidered "Bee" block;))) so uplifting with the colors you chose...nice work...hugs from homebase Julierose
ReplyDeleteThat is such a lovely Gail Pan design... I love all of her work!
ReplyDeleteThe summery yellow is the perfect border, and the backing (which I think is a Sweetwater print?) is so pretty too!
Enjoy stitching your binding and thanks for linking up to Slow Sunday Stitching!
What a sweet 'bee' project, someone will love it.
ReplyDeleteHi just caught up on your posts, Diann. I've done a little journaling in my day so loved the theme of your I Like post. Perfect. Your tomato plants are far ahead of mine which I've had to water lots with the extreme heat we have been having.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I'm loving your tree jungle and of course this embroidery with the pretty yellow trims. You have a lot of wonderful projects to keep you engaged.
Love, love, LOVE how you combined you stitching and quilting, Diann!!
ReplyDeleteLove your stitching, and your finish! Great work!
ReplyDeleteI made the same little stitchery. Yours looks lovely with the yellow borders!
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet, I've printed this off to do as well some day, so many projects so little time. :) xx
ReplyDeleteWonderful, I'm sure your friend will just love your little gift!
ReplyDeleteThis design is so pretty and I love the way that you finished it!
ReplyDeleteBoth projects look great. Yellow border is perfect for bee together. Nice you are making progress on the book club quilt. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's a lucky special someone! What a sweet embroidery.
ReplyDeleteAnd your hand quilting looks fabulous.
Such cute embroidery! That will be an encouragement to the recipient. I love having reminders around home, to be brave and be strong.
ReplyDeleteBee Brave is very cute, that yellow frame really brings out the colors in it. Congrats on another finish.
ReplyDeleteYour embroidery is so pretty. That is something I would love to learn someday.
