This guy was perched in a tree, and just as we got up close to him, he took off. The sky was perfect for getting a good picture!
I've been quilting my Crabapple Hill embroidery this week. This is my favorite corner of this design! Tonight I'm sewing the binding.
We decided the other day that we should try making some wonton soup. There are lots of different recipes out there for it, and several of them suggested these frozen wontons from Trader Joe's, so that's what we got.
The soup itself is simple to make, mostly broth and seasonings. You add the frozen wontons just for a few minutes right at the end. It was tasty!
I found some Sumo oranges the other day, and they really are good! This is a photo from Delish.com.
This interesting article accompanied the picture.
And if you need help figuring out how long 20 seconds of handwashing would last, try this!
Can you remember all that?! :)
Don't forget to visit Not Afraid of Color for lots of other "I Like Thursday" posts!
Great picture of the eagle. Love your stitchery. I love all the different songs about washing our hands---seriously does it surprise you that we have to train people how to wash their hands? My favorite was to the chorus of Sweet Caroline.
ReplyDeleteYou embroidery piece is so pretty and you've learned a lot of new stitches with it. I haven't seen our resident eagles yet this spring. Lots of coots, wood ducks, and mallards, though. The otters have either moved on or they visit when I'm not looking.
ReplyDeleteHi Diann! We use the say-the-alphabet rule for washing our hands. I never actually timed it, though. Those Sumo oranges look delicious. Seems like someone else mentioned them - Wendy maybe? Happy Thursday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteI love the Star Trek narrative, beats singing happy birthday!! Of course, you have to hum the theme song as you dry!!
ReplyDeleteI got a kick out of reading an article the other day of all the tunes you can sing while washing hands - I must admit I don't remember the words to most of the songs LOL so I just start counting instead I figure if I count slowly to 40 or so that should be enough! Love your oranges I haven't seen that kind.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo of the eagle. I've heard that we have a couple flying around our town but I've never been lucky enough to see one. Did have a turkey walk down the middle of our street once, though. The embroidery has turned out so pretty.. almost makes me want to take it up again.. ALMOST. I'd have to pass on the wonton soup; I'm one of those who tastes dish soap when eating anything with cilantro in it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific shot of that eagle. Your embroidery is so pretty. Yay for binding! Trader Joe's got the best stuff. :-) Live long and prosper!
ReplyDeleteThat "Stitch" corner with all those beautiful embellishments is my favorite too. Star Trek forever!
ReplyDeleteLove your embroidered piece!!! So pretty! Amazing photo of the eagle! We don't have trader joe's here but it sounds yummy! Have a healthy week!
ReplyDeleteTJ's is so far, I hate to even do it now. And always crowded in Denver.
ReplyDeleteYour design wall is so so so pretty
