It worked great for making these sweet little flying geese with a white sky!
My favorite Flying Geese method is the No Waste method, using
I've been experimenting with some four patches that could become a scrappy border of sorts for this quilt top.
These are still in the *maybe* stage! :)
My one rule is that the 4 inch squares in the four patches
have to already be in a TT block somewhere.
I also completed a few more string blocks in a color I'm calling Butterscotch! These will go into my string block collection to add to the border for the rainbow strings made throughout this year.

Love your geese. Perfect block to use the no-waste method.
ReplyDeleteI see why that fabric is a favorite, and I love it in the block you made. I'm liking your border! And I still love the color reference of "butterscotch". I may have to steal that idea as a quilt name. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm itching to do some Saturday stitching in my sewing room, but the OU/TX game is on at 11:00, and we have a couple family members coming to watch with us. I'll crochet while watching, then go do some sewing later. Have a great weekend!
Your Circle of Geese is so cute! I sewed one also, but didn’t get it framed. Company will be here all weekend, so I probably won’t post about it til next week, I think I’ll set it straight, like yours.
ReplyDeleteGreat fabric and I love the flying geese block. Neat idea for the border.
ReplyDeleteCute idea for your "maybe" scrappy border for the TT blocks!
ReplyDeleteVery smart to use only fabrics from your blocks in the border :)
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric you've picked for this TT block. Your TT quilt is coming along very well and it is wonderful already. I like the idea of the border. Enjoy the Butterscotch. Sounds so yummy! ;^)
ReplyDeleteYou guy a nice bit of sewing done, Diann!! Good luck deciding about your TT border.
ReplyDeleteYour Tiny Tuesday blocks look so great with the grey framing. Smart to do that with each block instead of waiting until the end like some people (yes, I am one of those people!) Beautiful string blocks!
ReplyDeleteLove your tiny Tuesday blocks! Yours looks so good. The four patches might be a really big border, but how about just a row of squares? Love the butterscotches!
ReplyDeleteYour TT block is perfect! Love the fabric choice -- so appropriate! I loved sewing mine up and hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Hmmmm ... butterscotch. Great bonus color!
ReplyDeleteSo great you've set up the TT blocks! Thanks for the inspiration! Your geese block is beautiful! :-)
ReplyDeleteButterscotch string blocks--how awesome! I always get good ideas from your blog. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to echo the TT block fabrics into the border! Looking forward to seeing it all together!
ReplyDeleteAnd oh, those luscious string blocks... Yum!
I always love seeing your rainbow work. That definitely is a great fabric for the geese, and I used the same method, my favourite as well. Love the butterscotch (yum) strings, something I need to pull out and sew one of these days, as they are increasing in number...
ReplyDeleteLovely!
