I had purchased Carole's August Blogger Bundle last year from Bernie's shop, Needle and Foot Fabrics and saved it to use for "something special!" (You know how we all do that!)
It's always fun to take bits and pieces like these...
and turn them into a piece like this -
And to also use some leftover chunks for the backing!
I chose a quilting design called "Echoing In" out of Jacquie Gering's Walk book for walking foot quilting designs, and I think it was perfect for this piece.
I took a picture early in the morning, hoping that you can see the design.
I used the yellow cross-hatch fabric for the binding.
August Blooms in the garden -
and on the table -
I admit there are some scraps of these pretty fabrics left, even after using some to make another little table topper (see last week's post), but I'll enjoy having them show up in other projects!

Very pretty! No wonder you saved those fabrics for a special project. I need to do more little projects like that to use up stash.
ReplyDeleteA sweet and satisfying little project!
ReplyDeleteI love the table topper! That coral makes it really pop! Nice job on the quilting too--I like the design you chose! So pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is fabulous!! Thank you for the mention!
ReplyDeleteYou always seem to have just the right objects to display with your quilts! Your marigolds are beautiful, are they from seed or did you put in plants? With being out camping last weekend/week I missed your post with the matching project, they are both so sweet.
ReplyDeleteYou are on a roll! Another very pretty table topper, and who doesn't love that?! I just love all those marigolds in the photo...so many and they sure brighten things up!
ReplyDeletethat turned out really well and looks perfect on your table.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a very pretty finish!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great use of that special fabric bundle, Diann. Nice job on the quilting, too!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, that photo with the marigolds! Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my, 'saving fabric' for that 'special project' sounds so much better than UFOs. Jacquie Gering's walking books, videos, etc. have been quite helpful. Having August Blooms as a table topper is definitely bringing your colorful garden indoors.
ReplyDeleteWonderful little table topper Diann. The perfect size for your table. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteI have piles of fabric I am "saving". I have no clue for what :)
Pretty fabrics and a great transitional table topper!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty little table topper! Now I want to make one! :)
ReplyDeleteDid you get the marigolds just to match your new product :-) The pieced backing matches the lively and cheerful front perfectly.
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling little table topper. Great photos, too!
