I'm starting right here -
My favorite morning spot, with my favorite morning beverage, and my favorite view of the birds out the window!
Later on, we'll throw some hotdogs on the grill for dinner and walk down to the park for our city's big fireworks display. Definitely a favorite tradition!
We've been enjoying all the baby animals in our yard lately, especially the bunches of chickadees who all try to feed at the suet at the same time. I haven't successfully gotten a picture of them yet, but we did spot this little guy the other day.
Exploring this new universe that he finds himself in!
I love this time of year! So many things to enjoy.
Sitting out on our back porch with the fountain burbling along.
In spite of my not-very-green thumb, things are growing.
Yay, a tomato!
Pretty flowers that just sort of volunteered right there!
I've enjoyed a bit more sewing with red, white, and blue this week. The summer block drive for Covered in Love is for R, W, and B stars.
I had a baggy full of leftover HSTs given to me by a friend, and thought I'd see what I could do with them. So far, so good!
If you're interested in participating in this block drive, check out Kat and Cat Quilts for details.
I'll leave you with this rock, found in the grocery store parking lot sitting at the base of a light. A fun surprise!
Have a wonderful day! I'm joining in, as I do each week, with "I Like Thursday" at Not Afraid of Color.
Happy 4th to you, Dear Friend! Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteHappiest of 4ths to you and yours--enjoy hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th! Love the rock. :) Lovely back yard and yay on the tomato!
ReplyDeletehappy 4th to you - how nice that you get to just walk to see the fireworks, if we drive then you search for a parking space and then need to wait and wait to get out of the parking areas that hubby decided years ago he wasn't going to do it and I don't want to go by myself - no fun -- even though we live on a ridge the many trees in the area prevent us from seeing them
ReplyDeleteBun! I haven't seen too many bunnies this summer. Your plants and quilts all look so nice. I think that's a "kindness rock" - they're fun to find. :-)
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you already have red, white and blue pieces and parts to puzzle into blocks for Kat! I'm going to try making one from Sarah's tutorial over on Confessions of a Fabric Addict. The whole quilt looks daunting, but one or two blocks might work. Happy Independence Day, Diann :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day, Diann.
ReplyDeleteWe are so alike...I have either a bird book or a flower book beside my coffee here these days too.
That flower looks like hibiscus maybe. Whatever, it is so pretty.
Love the tiny bunny who looks so sweet.Your red, white and blue pieced block is immaculate!
Happy Indpendence Day to you too! Its a gorgeous day so far, hope it continues to be sunshine and not too hot. I have been doing a lot of Red, White, and Blue sewing too. And I really didn't mean to do it right at this time, but it just kind of happened. LOL
ReplyDeleteNice tomato! I'm likin that R W and B block. I've heard of people leaving inspiring blocks around. How nice of them. Have a great day. mary
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your tomato!!! In MD we aimed for ripe tomatoes on the 4th but I have flowers still. wah! those baby bunnies are adorable aren't they? But Milo sees them as bite-size so they are chased off from our yard when he's on duty. Have fun tonight! LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th great likes. Is your volunteer dianthus? My daughter has volunteer milkweed growing in the palettes she used to build her pig pens. Your fountain is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHappy July 4th! We celebrated Canada Day on July 1st up here. It's a pleasure to follow along on your blog.
ReplyDeleteHappy Independence Day to you and your family, Diann! πΊπΈπ½π
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th! I'd like to come and join you on your back patio with that burbling fountain! We are having a quiet day at home. Both of us are a bit restless, so we'll have to find something to get out and do.
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful flowers blossoming all around you! Love this time of year. I love that rock. Sometimes it's nice to be reminded! hope you had a pleasant holiday!
