I'm making these on rectangular phonebook pages, and trimming them to 9.5 x 6.5 when the sewing is done. There are four sets so far.
Or maybe I will orient them this way?
I decided it was time to pull off the paper backing and sew the four blocks together into the large rectangle. I also stay stitched around the outside edge. This big block measures 12.5 x 18.5.
Some tiny strings made a tiny umbrella!
Aren't these fun?!
And I finished up a Tiny Rails block in Christmas scraps, too!
I'm up to 18 of these 10.5 inch blocks now - not sure where I will stop. I definitely need at least 20 of them!
March was the perfect month for sewing with green - and now the world outside is greening up, too! Sharing at SoScrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday.
Your little umbrella is so cute. Seeing all your blocks sashed and displayed together is inspiring.
ReplyDeleteYour phonebook strings are looking great. I really like the burgundy (maroon, dark red?) touch on them. Did you improv that umbrella? Cute! Your tiny rails are turning into a not-so-tiny quilt. :)
ReplyDeleteyou started the rails last year? and then just carrying them through this year too? that is what I might do for the Panama Pyramid quilt that I started in the greens I didn't think about it until this month so I have no red and yellow ones done
ReplyDeleteJust lovely projects--I especially love (want for myself! haha) your Christmas tiny rails--so cute...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteLovely blocks; I just love that tiny owl. They are all happy blocks.
ReplyDeleteLove those logs and your string blocks are stunning.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad for the greening outside too - great blocks. I want to see those string blocks finished.
ReplyDeleteOooh, it's like a stringy trip around the world quilt! I looks great! All of the tiny blocks look great in their settings, too.
ReplyDeleteAll of your GREEN blocks look great in your RSC projects in process!!
ReplyDeleteYou have had a very colorful week! Love all of your projects!
ReplyDeleteNice green strings and nice post.
ReplyDeleteI can't decide which of your blocks I like the best; they are all so wonderful! It's great to see something different with the rectangle string blocks, and your Tiny Tuesday blocks look great, especially with the grey setting fabric. But those Tiny Rails really knock my socks off!
ReplyDeleteI love your little penguins peeking out!
ReplyDeleteYour TT blocks are looking great! I'm envious you were able to decide on your sashing - I'm still dithering. The Tiny Rail blocks look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYour TT blocks against that gray look fantastic. What a cute collection. I like those little rails too. Another nice collection of blocks.
ReplyDeleteStrings are such a great way to use up scraps! Stay stitching around the edges sounds like a really good idea. I love how your little penguins are peaking out of your tiny rails bloc!
ReplyDeleteLove your sampler blocks so far. Your string blocks are lots of fun too. You did well on the stitching front.
ReplyDeleteI love your string rectangles and the Tiny Tuesday blocks and... well, just everything! But those rectangles, mmmmm!
ReplyDeleteI am a little behind in my blog reading. Even though we have moved on to aqua, I wanted to let you know I live your green blocks ;)
