I ❤ my new storage!

The painting was finished in my sewing room on Tuesday afternoon, and before too long we got the furniture moved to where I wanted it.

This beautiful oak cabinet used to be full of a big old TV and lots of VHS tapes.

Mike thought maybe we should get rid of it, but I knew exactly how I would use it!  :)

Those scrap bins and project boxes have been on the floor ever since I started using them.  This will be so much nicer!

I also ended up with the perfect spot for my "And Sew On" wall-hanging.  (This was sewn up in 2013 through a Block of the Month with Kristy of Quiet Play, and is the reason I started blogging!)  It hasn't been hung up in awhile, and it definitely belongs here!

I did find some time to sew up a Tiny Tuesday heart this week.

Thank you to Cynthia from Quilting is more fun than Housework for a fun little design.  I know this won't be the only heart I sew up this month!

Loving these little blocks.  I'll enjoy adding yellow to the mix this month!

Linking up with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilters over at SoScrappy!

  1. Wow, it’s amazing what a fresh coat of paint will do, isn’t it? Great repurposing of the entertainment center. Congrats! I did some deep cleaning and purging in my studio in January and that made a positive difference too.

  2. Congrats on the sewing room redo, it looks great! After 2 moves, we've got a few pieces that have ended up being re-purposed over the years. It seems you can never have too much storage. Enjoy stitching in your refreshed space this weekend.

  3. It looks amazing! I'm so happy for you. Don't you love when you can repurpose things for your sewing room? I've done that so many times that now my husband asks me first before he throws something away - lol!
That little heart is adorable. I need to get sewing on something heart-y this month. :)

  9. I love seeing how people repurpose old TV stands. Usually I see children's kitchens, but your grown-up repurposing is a great idea. Love the quilt, too. And the symmetry of the fabric design in your heart block.

  13. That's a brilliant use of an old TV cabinet! As more people get wall mounted flat screen TVs, there should be a bunch of them coming up on the market used. Maybe every quilter should get one :)

  14. your tiny tuesday blocks look great! i have all intentions of doing TT this year, but so far it's just that: good intentions! i make my crumb blocks to finish at 6"- and that's just becuase i have a ruler that's 6½"- easy to trim to that size. thanks for stopping by!
