I decided to set them together, using the scraps from the pillow I made for my mom earlier this month.
A little bit of quilting, both by hand and machine, holds the layers together.
This afternoon I'll be hand-stitching the binding down.
These redwork embroidery projects have been such an enjoyable way to do some slow stitching every evening during the holiday season! I'm really glad I found Gail Pan's book!
Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas holiday!

I just love the redwork you've done, and that is a really pretty hanging. Glad you had some fabric left over from your Mom's pillow! That running stitch around the edges really sets it off.
ReplyDeleteYour redwork is spectacular! I know your Mom will love this! Well done! Hugs, Mickie
ReplyDeleteYou really found some good patterns to get started with red work. Did you use muslin for the background-maybe you said before and I don't remember. I just love this piece!
