Squared Away for October

The October Squared Away block, chosen by Mari of the Academic Qulter for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2018 Sampler, is called Dewey Dream and comes to us all the way from 1899!  I've really enjoyed making the blocks from this sampler, and thanks definitely go to Mari and Angela of SoScrappy for organizing this project for us.

I took a look at my light/lime green Squared Away blocks, made back in March, to help me decide which way to go when choosing fabrics for my dark green blocks.

For all of my Squared Away blocks, I've tried to stick with small floral prints or dots, and a few solids, with a consistent Kona White for the background.

For October's blocks I decided on a dark green Kona paired with a simple print.

These two blocks went together quickly!

I really love green!

The truth is, I love all these pretty blocks!

Ideas are starting to swirl around in my head for sashing, cornerstones, and a border.    It's going to be fun to sew this quilt together!
