All those things make me happy, and others, too -
- open doors or windows on a warm Spring day
- my yearly box of grapefruit picked from my mom's tree in Arizona which came in the mail the other day - yummy!
- the nightly neighborhood walk that Mike and I take after dinner, year round. We see so many different things: neighbors walking their dogs, stars in the night sky, the lilacs budding out
- freshly baked cookies - my favorite is peanut butter!
My book club met at our house earlier this week, so it was a good excuse to bake!
-of course, I also love sewing little bits of fabric together in a rainbow of colors
Which leads me to another meme I liked this week, too -
So true!
Hope you are experiencing some tiny happy things this week! Thanks for joining me on "I Like Thursday." Be sure to check out all of the I Like Thursday posts at
LeeAnna's blog, Not Afraid of Color!
This is a lovely post, it is often the little things that make a difference. x
ReplyDeleteI'm with you all the way on this one!
ReplyDeleteThe Tiny Happy Things meme is perfect. The first sip of coffee is my favorite from that list. And definitely, quilting is the answer! Thanks for giving me a smile to start my day.
ReplyDeleteLove that little Tiny Happy Things. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to receive delicious grapefruit off your Mom's tree - better than Harry and David!
Yum on the peanut butter cookies!
Hi Diann,
ReplyDeleteYum - I can just smell those cookies! I love the nightly walk idea - that is something we will adopt. Both memes are spot on, and your colorful blocks look so friendly and fun. I wonder what they will be when they grow up and come together with other friends? ~smile~ Roseanne
It's a great time of year for some happiness!
ReplyDeleteI would love nightly walks around the neighborhood but all I have is a country road with no shoulder to walk on and too many stray dogs in the area to feel comfortable walking there - most of the dogs are ok but now and then you get one you don't want to be near - Love cookies! all kinds
ReplyDeleteI love all of these things too! Your post is a great reminder to look for the little things in life that make us smile and bring us happiness. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteTiny happy things can really carry me thru a day. Thanks for the reminders. I need some peanut butter cookies-haven't baked in awhile. Pretty blocks!
ReplyDeleteyes, when people like the same stuff! Like grapefruits and quilting and reading
ReplyDeleteOoh. A post packed with happy stuff. Those are all good! I have a card similar to your meme - except the answer is chocolate. Which I have to admit, can deal with a lot of things. :-)
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look so good. I only bake when I need to take something somewhere. Otherwise my husband eats the whole thing and he doesn't need it and shouldn't eat it.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, quilting is the answer, although I'll agree with Sally that chocolate is a close second. And flowers never hurt either.

What a fun post! Those are all things I love, too. My variations are walks with DH on his days off and PINK grapefruit. It’s so nice to love and appreciate the little things.
