While I have followed along each time, I've never participated, until now! I have a started project that needs a new home.
Earlier this year, I made these 36 blocks out of 10 inch squares from Connecting Threads. They are a bright and happy combination of solids, tone on tones, and a few fun little prints from their fabric line called Saltwater, with cute mermaids and whales, among other things, on them. The blocks are about 9 1/2 x 9 1/2, so I think they would finish up somewhere around 50 x 50 without a border.
They are shown here on my design wall. (Not sewn together!)
I have since sewn together two rows -
but the rest are still in a big pile, waiting for the perfect person to finish them up and find the perfect recipient for the quilt.
Maybe you are the perfect person to finish this bright and happy quilt?! If you would like to adopt these blocks and make them into a finished quilt, please leave me a comment on this post. I will ship to US locations only. I would be sending you the blocks only, as I have not yet purchased backing, batting, or binding. I would love for this quilt to be donated to your favorite charity, but if you know someone personally who would love this quilt, that would be great, too!

This would be a great kids quilt. One of my quilt guilds is always looking for more kids quilts. This would be fun to finish, and practice my machine quilting on. Thanks for the chance.

We are raising money to purchase a longarm quilting machine (to quilt our charity quilts as well as personal quilts) so that all members can use it. ReplyDeleteAfter several years of surgeries, rehabs, and recovery, and adjusting to the loss of my Mother to an assisted living situation, I am finally quilting again with a passion. !00% of my work is for our guild's community donation quilts. I am currently using up my stash because I am living on social security and find purchasing fabrics out of reach right now and I'm quite attactwed to solids and contemporary fabrics, which I have a small amoount of. Two of the quilts I've made this month use half- and quarter-square triangles....wish I could post a photo for you! ReplyDeletefabric choices are the hardest thing for me. It is the hurdle in the race that I can't get over easily. I love to get blocks from others where their creativity has already made the hard choices. I make quilts to raise money for our school and the community with blocks given to me. I love working with other's works-- it takes the pressure off :) I would happily take your blocks (all or either set) and create something fabulous with them that would support other's fundraising goals. Pick me! :) p.s. thank you for offering them up in the first place.
