The Scrappy Blues

I've been pulling out some blues this week and experimenting with 2 1/2 inch squares and strips, making another 16 patch block and a couple framed four patches, resulting in these blocks.


To be honest, I'm not really liking this combination yet, but it's early, and I bet they need some help from other colors, so I'll keep experimenting!  It's fun to play!

    I actually like your choices. You coordinated prints very well with the mix of light blue and dark blue. Is that periwinkle print Honey Honey?

    You just wait until there are some sunny yellows, cheerful greens and pretty pinks in the mix! The blocks will really hold their own then. Great start.

    I like your 16 patch blocks and the 4 patch framed. This week I tried another block and didn't like it also...

    Some blocks need a crowd to really shine. I agree with others that it's too early to tell. Give it time for the magic to happen! 8)

    I like your 16 patch. It is early in the rainbow year. I am sure the blocks will come together with a few more colors.

    You might like it better once you've made more blocks, even more blue blocks. It's early days yet. :- )
