I added a couple of 16 patch blocks to my collection. Last week I wasn't happy with what I had so far for these blocks, but they are growing on me, especially looking at the grouping (above) from a distance! Lol!
And one more:
I love this one especially because I pulled two pieces of binding out of my scrap basket, ironed them open, and used them for the two strips needed to make the 16 patch. Thank you to Cynthia for this idea! Her Scrap-a-Palooza 16 patch quilt from September of 2014 is my inspiration for these blocks.
I also made two blue Scrap Jar Stars - one in lighter blues and the other in darker:
I can tell already that I am going to love this quilt. Those stars are becoming one of my favorite blocks. They go together pretty quickly, and are a good way to practice making my HSTs more exact.
I'll be linking up to Scrap Happy Saturday and Oh Scrap! on Sunday for lots more scrappy inspiration! See you there!
What a great looking design wall! I love all the scrappy projects you have going on. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap! It even looks like you are keeping up with Quilty 365.
ReplyDeleteThose scrappy stars look awesome!
ReplyDeleteSuch a WONDERFUL selection of BLUE blocks!! Looks like you are fully embracing the RSC.
ReplyDeleteYour design wall looks great, those stars are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLooking great, that wall! Your RSC projects are going to be absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDelete(I've learned never to judge a block by what a single one looks like. Some of them really need to be in a group in order to show off their magic!)
looks fantastic! I made 16 patches last year as part of my RSC15 sewing. I ended up with 188! crazy I know... but one of the quilts is off being quilted now, and I still have enough for another. it's such a versatile pattern, and you'll love visiting all your favorite fabrics again!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are looking great! Such pretty fabrics in the blue and yellow block from the bindings.
ReplyDeleteThose Scrap Jar Stars really are addictive. Such a great block for putting those 16 patches to great use.
ReplyDeleteYour design wall looks great, very productive. The Scrap Jar Stars seem just perfect for the RSC. Like you, my stash is mainly precuts, but they sure are handy. Keep up the good work!.
ReplyDeleteLove your scrap jar stars. That was on my long list for this year, but it didn't make the cut!

ReplyDeleteScrap Jar Stars can be addicting. Have fun with them!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great desing wall with so many projects going on. Love them all but the stars are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteLots of fun projects on your design wall! I love the scrap jar stars and had to research where the pattern was so I could do some too. Thanks for the incentive!

ReplyDeleteI love sixteen patch blocks (and I like using my leftover binding strips this way, too). Great scrap jar stars.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing 4 patches in the colors. Hopefully after the next few months and a few more colors I can actually start putting them on my 'design wall' for a rainbow quilt top.
