For the blue background, why not piece different shades of blue 2.5” squares to give the sky area some depth and interest? The little butterfly(ies) are a great idea, and I love the sun, too! I think the flying geese shapes might not have meaning to the average viewer, whereas butterflies are so readily identifiable. And you could even embroider a bee or too as well! So many possibilities!!
