Happy birthday to my favorite guy!
Cheboygan, Michigan, by Lake Huron, in September
To celebrate, I took him out for breakfast and to play a round of golf. It was a beautiful fall day!
I voted last week, and I'm very happy to have done so. I always enjoy seeing what each year's voting sticker looks like - they're much more creative than they used to be!
LeeAnna's question of the week is about favorite fall comfort foods. Besides soup, which I shared about last week, for me it is anything made with pumpkin! In recent years, I've been successfully growing a few pumpkins in my garden, and have been roasting them to get my own pumpkin for baking.
And then the resident baker (younger son!) turns the pumpkin into something delicious. This week it was sourdough pumpkin bread! Yum!
Have a great Thursday, friends!
We have been to Cheboygan! Happy Birthday to your husband. Sounds like a nice way to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteI have never roasted a pumpkin but did roast a butternut squash for soup a few weeks ago. Yum!
Have a great day. Gail at the cozy quilter.
Golfing is a great way to celebrate. Happy Birthday.

Happy birthday to Your Guy. Sounds like you made it special. Having a resident baker is very nice. Sourdough pumpkin bread sounds amazing.
ReplyDeleteOh pumpkin sourdough bread - yum! Happy birthday to Mike. I was telling my husband yesterday about how you guys play golf. Hubs wants to play so badly - hopefully soon. "Cheboygan" always reminds me of a high school friend who saw it in a book, and it became a word for her to say it in a funny voice - it still makes me laugh to think about it!
ReplyDeleteDiann, you’re making me drool 🤤. I love pumpkin, too, just not in my coffee! Pumpkin bread, muffins, scones, cookies……mmmmmmm. Happy Birthday to you husband 🍰
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your hubby! Pumpkin baking is the best. I've never had pumpkin sourdough bread but now I'm going on the search for it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday to your husband. Sounds like you gave him the perfect day. When we vote here in IL, we get the same I Voted! sticker every time. Booooring! I prefer yours 100%! Lol! Good job on your pumpkin garden this year!! Your son's creation sounds delicious especially with a hot cup of coffee. Have a great Thursday!
