We have had a wonderful time visiting Charleston, SC, with our Navy friend group this week! I brought along some cross-stitch supplies in case there would be some time to work a few stitches in to the Summer Stamp project. And this is as far as I got...
Instead of stitching, we've been doing things like going on a shelling tour, which is a boat trip out to an island where you can find all kinds of shells.

We found lots of shells! I was not planning to bring any home, but you know how that goes.
In fact... there is a table-full here!
So much fun!
It has been a wonderful week away, exploring a different part of the country! We have one more day here, and are planning to find a beach to hang out at. Heading home tomorrow (Monday). We've had a great time, but it will also feel good to be home again.

I am so happy to hear that you have had a great vacation, Diann. "Shelling" sounds like a whole lot of fun. My daughter and her family have done something similar and have brought home some wonderful shells. It looks like you found some beautiful ones as well. Your Summer Stamps are looking wonderful. ReplyDeleteI would think it's a must to take some shells home after an excursion to the beach. You've collected some great ones. Maybe you'll get some time to enjoy a little stitching on your pretty Summer cross stitch.
ReplyDeleteWe just returned from Wilmington NC on Friday! So close! Great part of the country. Glad you're having a fun time but I certainly understand looking forward to being home. Stitching can happen then. Memories last forever.

ReplyDeleteLOVE it!!!! Yes, we never plan on bringing shells home, but it always happens. I do laugh when I finally got tired of the shells sitting in a bin on the bathroom toilet. I threw them in the driveway next to the porch. Now I get to see them ALL the time. They bring back memories of trips. From now on our kid can collect shells and bring them home every trip. Just make sure if to not leave them in a trunk somewhere or to boil them if you are going to keep them in the house. I have "those" smelly memories too. LOL. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteEnjoy your beach time. I remember bring home shells when were some place with a beach. Fun and different from what we are used to. Mr Busy’s brother and family have just moved to SC. They are in Columbia, not coastal.
