I Like Thursday #481

We've had a gray and chilly week here in northern Colorado, and finally some rain came!  So nice to finally get a little of that precipitation we need so badly!   It's been cold enough that I need to wear my down coat when I go for a walk.  But not too cold for the neighbor's iris to bloom!

We've done some spring clean-up in the yard when it's been nice enough.  That includes cleaning off our back porch (it gets really dusty over the winter!) and getting out the furniture for enjoying it.  We both enjoy spinners and yard art, and have been replacing the cloth ones we had previously (that get destroyed by the sun and wind) with metal ones.

I think this one's my favorite right now.

I think LeeAnna's question of the week is about Spring cleaning, but I can't seem to find the email about it.  (Must have been Spring cleaning my inbox, lol!)  When it comes to cleaning, I seem to go in spurts.  Sometimes there is routine cleaning or cleaning because company is coming.  Sometimes I see that something in particular needs to be done so I just do it.  But I rarely do a large "Spring Cleaning."

This week we have been cleaning out/collecting our old electronic items for an e-waste collection drive that we can take them to.  Think old phones, laptops, charging cords, VCRs, and that type of thing.  It turns out we have a lot of them!  It requires looking in  junk drawers and places where those things hide.  And finding things you forgot you had - like this... never opened.  I've been retired for 11 years, and I stopped wearing nylons to work long before that.  Wonder how long this has been in that drawer.

I got a good laugh out of this find!
Do they even sell these anymore?

  1. Your neighbor's irises are so pretty. Ours is not in bloom yet. Oooh I love your spinners. They do bring color and whimsy to gardens as well. I am like you- I go in spurts on cleaning. I had to giggle when I saw the nylons. I am sure there are plenty tucked away in my dresser drawers too. LOL. Hugs

  2. I laughed over the nylons. . . .I "found" several packages in a drawer I cleaned out at the end of COVID. . .I laughed too as I hadn't worn "hose" in over a decade! Nor do I plan to wear them anytime soon! I bet those spinners provide some beautiful color when they spin.

  3. It has been a long time since I wore those too! I did not wear dresses or skirts at work …just dress pants. So funny to find an unopened package in your drawer. We have our patio table and chairs out but have not used them yet. It’s going to be too cool to eat outside for the next week or two. We can’t plant annual flowers until late May …
We have some drawers and boxes that need a good clean out. In sure there are lots of treasures in them…. Gail at the cozy quilter.

  4. I have a couple of unopened packages of hosiery too, but I still cannot go bare-legged in a dress with heels.

  5. Remember Leggs sold in Eggs? I love your butterfly spinner! That iris is lovely! Our squirrels tend to destroy anything hanging from our trees (wind chimes, etc). Wonder if the spinners would ward them off?

  6. Giggles, yes my MIL still wears them. I don't know who sells them though! It has been at least ten years since I have worn any!

  7. I'm so glad you got some rain! Haha on the panty hose - I wore those things to work and hated when I got a run. Did you also wear the short ones you wore with pants? After I retired, I used up all the old ones I had in my drawer to tie up tomatoes - LOL!
