Confused...

We're still working on Spring here at the Little Penguin house.

But outside, Mother Nature is a bit confused!

This was Friday.

So, just to complicate things a little more, why not start a Summer project, lol!  This is the header of Melisa's Summer stitch-along at PinkernPunkin.  I started the borders on another piece of cloth, but realized I didn't like how it was looking, so I started over with the header.  Who can resist a U that looks like a slice of watermelon and a sunflower?!  Definitely not me!

I'll get back to the borders after I finish this top section.

  1. Okay I won't complain about it going below freezing because at least we don't have snow!!! Yikes! Such strange weather! I love your Summer header--that watermelon "U" is adorable! Have a great day!

  2. The only good thing about snow at this time of year is that it will melt soon! Keep channeling warmer weather with your pretty stitching projects!!! Gail at the cozy quilter. Ps we have a chance of a few flakes of the dreaded s word here today too.

  4. Ohmygosh--snow??? We are fogbound this morning and at 45 it is chilly and damp...I don't count on warmer weather until at least mid-May here on the coast of Long Island Sound--those ocean waters stay cold for a long time...keeping my sweatshirts out still;))))

  5. We got close to freezing yesterday morning, so I can see where snow would be possible where you are. At least it will be moisture when it melts, I hear it's been really dry there. Melisa's designs are always so cute. It's a good thing all my cross stitch stuff is stored out of site, her stuff is just way too tempting. Enjoy your slow stitching time today.

  6. Snow while stitching a summer pattern. Maybe mother nature will make up her mind. I'll have to ask my brother if they got snow, he is visiting his daughters family and grandson this week - they are in Avarda.

  10. Lovely start to summer--I discovered i did not have any cloth large enough in a color I wanted so-checked out 123stitch and found 2 in light yellow and ordered them--so glad their shipping is only $3.95--it should be here by mid week--I really don't know if I needed another cross stitch project--but you know how it goes???
    Have a great week--hugs, di

  11. well I know you needed the moisture of snow or rain so I this time something to be happy with. even though we have gotten a little this past week considering the rain showers we normally get in spring we are way behind. Love the stitching

  12. My goodness! It was 42° here this morning, but thank goodness no snow. ;) I love your start on Melisa's SAL. I have mine sitting in the living room begging me to start it - I keep forgetting it is there!

  13. Wow the snow is beautiful. I hope it did not stunt any of the spring blooms and growth going on. It is so exciting to see your Summer stitch, Diann. The floss colors you chose are scrumptious. you will have it completed in no time. Enjoy your day. Hugs.
