I Like Thursday #460

Wishing you a wonderful day, however you are spending it!  It will be a quiet day at our house.  Older son has opted to stay home with his girlfriend and her family, and is cooking a turkey breast for the first time.  I'm looking forward to hearing how it all turned out!

We've continued to see the wild turkeys around town.  It's always fun to see where they turn up.  These two don't seem too worried about ending up as someone's dinner!

I made a pumpkin pie today (Wednesday), and it turned out very good.  We couldn't wait to have a *little* taste of it!  It has been many years since I baked a pumpkin pie, so I wasn't sure I knew what I was doing.  But - it's good!

Thankful for all of you, my blogging friends.
Thanks for visiting here!

  1. I wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving, Diann. I bet your son will do just fine preparing the turkey. It is so fun to see the wild turkey photos. I bet they are well loved in the neighborhood. Hugs and Blessings.

  4. I know you'll miss your older son, but sounds like he is establishing traditions too. We will enjoy our family today, but by noon tomorrow everyone will be gone, and we will be wondering how it went by so fast. Your pie looks scrumptious! Happy Thanksgiving Diann.

  7. Happy Thanksgiving! I made pies yesterday and DH and I had to sample it last night, had to make sure it was good to serve, LOL. We have had turkeys traveling through our yard too. Yesterday a deer tried chasing one of them, never seen that before as they usually don't pay attention to each other.

  8. We had a wild turkey in our backyard years ago. It totally freaked me out. We live in the middle of town!

  11. Just us today, so we drove to Perkins and had their buffet. Most everything else is closed in our town today. It was good. I will start the salad today and back pumpkin pies tomorrow in anticipation of our “Thanksgiving” on Saturday. We re going non traditional. Lasagne, cranberry salad, pies and cheesecake.
I think your pies looks wonderful. Did you use a special recipe? I usually just follow the one on the Lilly Pumpkin can, with a little bit more nutmeg. Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.
