Pumpkins and crows...

The newest little Pumpkin and Crow stitch is fully finished into a bowl filler pillow!

This isn't the first time I've stitched pumpkins and crows together - this little piece is from several years ago, and I think was a block for a larger quilt, but I just did this one.  Maybe one of you will remember who designed this?  I have always loved it!

I did get started on the Little Hoot stamp from Melisa this week.  You can see him taking shape, but he needs his wings!

Judging by the "horns" he has, I would say that Little Hoot is a Great Horned Owl.  We've had several of them in our trees over the years.  It's always a fun treat to hear them, and especially to actually see them!

I'll be back to stitching on Little Hoot for my Slow Sunday Stitching.
Linking up with Kathy's Quilts.

  3. We hear owls but I’ve never seen one in the wild. They blend in very well to their surroundings. Your owl is really cute, as is the new bowl filler. Happy stitching! Gail at the cozy quilter

  4. So adorable! Love the crows and pumpkins! And now I can't wait to see the owl too! We occasionally have an owl in the neighborhood--mostly we have hawks vs. the crows.

  7. Lovely finishes on both the bowl finish and the little pumpkin and crow block. It feels like Winter is coming closer to us here today--overcast skies and really chilly out there...aren't we luck to have our quilts for cuddling up in? Hugs, Julierose

  8. Fun to see your Little Hoot start. He’s on my list too, but will have to wait till next Fall. I have several “starts” than need to be “fully finished “.

  9. We had one of those owls land in our yard the other day - going after a vole, I think. It was exciting!

  11. I love that you have an owl hanging out in your trees that would be so neat to see. We do have them of course and occasionally hear one but I never see them here I have only seen them when we have traveled out west.
    I love the crow stitchery

  14. You made an adorable pillow with Pumpkin and Crow. I love the appliqued block as well. Is it a mat, or do you have a sleeve on it for hanging? Both pieces displayed with a pumpkin is cute. How exciting to see a Great Horned Owl in your own trees.

  16. We have horned owls around us too. Just the other day I heard one hooting. It was a thrill because it's been quite a while since I heard one. You're right-- they're very difficult to find in the trees!
