To-Do Tuesday #174

I'm putting a request on Mother Nature's to-do list for this week.  Please bring Spring back!

This is Monday morning's view out the front window.
At least, as with most Spring snowstorms, it all should melt pretty quickly!

On my personal to-do list from last week, I just wanted to get the binding taken care of on the Dancing Plus quilt, and that is done!  ✅️. You can read more about it in my weekend post HERE.  I finished stitching the binding on Saturday evening.

I'm not counting this one as completely finished yet, because I discovered some places where I missed some quilting and need to add more.  Maybe by the end of this week it will be ready for a finished post?

On this week's to-do list, I have some adulting to do... a meeting with the therapists and caregivers at my mom's rehab center to see how she's doing.

And... I'm being a good girl and finally getting my first Shingles shot this afternoon.  My doctor has been on me to get that done for a couple years, and I've put it off.  But not anymore!

In the sewing room:  just need to finish up one last March project, and that is my entry for the Table Scraps Challenge.  It's part way there!

What's on your list this week?

  1. It's also white here this morning... it snowed on the spring flowers.
However, temperatures are expected to reach 57 Fahrenheit by the weekend... that gives hope.
Great binding, wonderful quilt... I wish you a lot of joy...
I'm working on a summer dress, linen fabric... dark purple - I think I'll be the queen :-))))

  3. We have had snow showers recently and are expecting frost again tonight. The shrubs that were damaged in the Christmas freeze are not looking very good, but we haven't lost hope. Your plus quilt looks so nice all "done up."

  5. I had my first Shingles shot 3 weeks ago. About 3 days of achy feeling, and some not so energetic feeling to go along with it. The gal told me with the second shot stronger side effects-oh yay!

  6. Oh yes get that shingles shot!! you should have had it when you turned 50!! i have heard of so many that get shingles and then say why didn't I get the shot. I have encouraged both son in laws and my daughter's to get it as soon as they can.
Good luck at the meetings with your mothers people

  8. I need to do the Shingles vaccine too. Last time I asked, they didn't have any vaccine at our Public Health Center. Looking forward to seeing your Table Scraps project. Then I'm ready for April: Spring, a new color and maybe a new idea or two!! Our daughter sent photos of the snow as she made her way to her first homebound patient Monday. She ran across (saw, not literally ran over) a small herd of deer. :)
Always fun! I know you got that, but sometimes I wonder if I'm unclear to others who don't understand the local idioms!

  9. Snow in Spring. . .not terrible unusual; but, wouldn't we rather have spring rain instead? I too am in line for my booster to the shingles vaccine. I hope you feel no adverse effects from your inoculation.

  11. A finish is always satisfying! Those adulting things and the snow - not always fun. Hubs and I were just talking about getting the shingles vaccine, too. On my to do list.

  13. Caught up on your last two posts, Diann. How wonderful to have your Plus quilt almost all done. THis looks to be a good size and I must consider that for mine; I always want them to be bigger whatever I make. Love those fun zipper blocks. Meanwhile, we got another couple of inches of snow too but today with sun is melting things. Finally seeing the banks of snow start to sink. Of course, it never takes long once it starts. Hope you will have a good appointment and a good week.

  15. Hi Diann! Oh, I'm SO glad you're getting the shingles shot. It is not fun to get them and if there's anything that can help you to avoid a case of them, do it. And I agree with the plea to Mother Nature! Please, please bring Spring. Ugg to more snow - we have another storm coming tomorrow. The gray binding looks so nice and it matches the background so nicely! Good luck adulting for Mom and this week's list. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  16. I got home from FL Sunday and there's been a mix of rain and snow both days since. Tomorrow promises a high of 50, then a 20 degree drop in temp as another front moves through with high winds and a snow squall. I hope your Mom's recovery is going well. It's good that you are getting the Shingles shot. The only side effect I had with mine was a sore arm. Love all the projects you've been finishing lately.

  17. That looks like a lot of snow, especially for almost April. It is pretty though. Shingles is no fun. I had it on my face years ago and was afraid it was going to get to my eye. I got the shingles shot as soon as I could after that. Now they tell me that shot isn't very effective so I have to get the new set of shots. I just haven't done it.

  18. I got the second Shingle shot last Wednesday and happy to say the side effects were less severe. Yay on the Plus quilt finish! Hope the meetings goes well for you this week.

  21. My doctor has suggested I get the Shingles vaccine as well. I always intend to do it but then I figure I should wait until this...or that...is done first, in case I have a reaction LOL. We are in Florida this week so I haven't done any crafting to speak of.

  22. Snow...so done with that here ...I hope. :)

  23. Diann you have been busy this last week. Hope the snow is gone and you are getting some quality time in with your fabrics in spite of having to do some adulting. Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday.
